21 Feb 2009Okay, so it looks like I'm babysitting my housemate's EVE account until he gets home, so I just had to make the setup work:

From left to right: Laptop running EVE-Mon; EVE running on work laptop; EVE running on PC.
I'm using Synergy so I can control everything from the one set of keyboard/mice. I had a bit of an issue with EVE dropping out when it was losing focus, but there's an option in Synergy to stop this from happening.
This is just begging to be played, but it's downtime now which is CCP's way of reminding us all that we have to eat, and take care of all those other bodily functions.

21 Feb 2009Okay so I've been guilty of every six months picking up EVE-Online and playing it for a day or so before getting sick of it.
And I've succumbed yet again, but this time it feels a little bit different. I'm approaching the game with a clear plan for what I want to acheive and am having a longer-than-usual run.
But in order for me to progress, I think I'm going to need to get some mates playing cooperatively so we can do group missions, etc - making it easier for the group as a whole to progress. And therein lies the problem, I think. I've always tried to play EVE by myself, but it's really a group-based game.

Incidentally, my corporation - House of Awesome - is now recruiting, so drop in and join in the fun ;)

18 Sep 2007It's been known for a long time that the folks over at one of our local online stores, Nintek, really doesn't like WALAN - but this is just too funny not to share...
Just to let you know that I have removed your WALAN promotion thread from the Nindeals forums.
Nindeals & Nintek do not condone any promotion of WALAN on our sites.
Cheers
Matt

No problems, thanks for letting me know about the removal of the thread. If I may enquire however, can you please elaborate on this?
Before posting I checked the Forum Rules and the only thing that would have applied is the Spam of any kind is not permitted rule - though I searched the forums and it seems that prior postings about WALAN and other groups has been okay in the past (and still is for other groups).
Perhaps my wording or message was inappropriate, if you can let me know why this is so - I'll be sure to see it doesn't happen again!
Cheers :)
It's not against the forum rules and normally we would be happy to allow anyone to promote a LAN event (especially a WA one), however in this instance we find it difficult to allow WALAN to promote for it's own benefit on our site, when, WALAN is happy to allow it's own community to portray Nintek in a negative light on your forums.
Hopefully that provides a reasonable explanation?
Thanks for elaborating, though I'm not sure I agree with your opinion.
Whilst a number of our members have posted what they have claimed as bad experiences as customers of your business, I do not agree that they are doing so with malice.
We do not censor our member's opinions and encourage free and open discussion as much as possible. If you feel that any of these opinions are unfair or unwarranted, I would invite you to create a forum account with us and discuss the issue with the people in question.
Nor can I see how our forum would differ from such public forums as Whirlpool who do not seem to be barred from here and incidentally also receive specials and free shipping*. I'm not trying to draw a conclusion here, it just seems like a bit of a double standard.
These points aside, I respect your decision and will not attempt to post WALAN related items to these forums in the future.
Should you ever wish to review this policy, or would like to discuss any other business opportunities in the future - please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the following details.

The signal-to-noise of this site can vary wildly, so here's a few things I'm reasonably happy with that might be of interest to other people:
